Bokoni Platinum Mines, in collaboration with the Department of Social Development, identified a programme that aims at empowering fifteen(15) individuals from vulnerable families through the provision of training. The programme intended to bridge the gap of skills shortages by equipping the youth with theory and practical skills in the mining and construction sectors, as well as job readiness and driver’s licenses. The initiative commenced on May 15, 2025, and concluded on July 11, 2025. Participants transitioned from driving sessions to theory-based and hands-on construction training, ensuring a holistic learning experience that prepares them for potential employment opportunities in the mining industry and related sectors. The skills development programme is a vital step towards sustainable community upliftment. It represents a well-rounded approach to youth empowerment by addressing both skill shortages and access to employment pathways.
